Technology at Park 16

Meeteetse 1:1 Initiative

Park County School District #16 and Meeteetse School is excited to provide each of our students with daily access to a Chromebook.  Students in grades 6-12 may pay a $25 rental fee and take their assigned Chromebooks home with them each day.  All students must have a signed agreement with the district to use their assigned Chromebook.  In an instance where a form is not on file, the student will be allowed to check out a Chromebook for use daily in class.  Students in grades PreK-5th grade will have access to a Chromebook daily in class.  Please see forms below for device Responsibility and Agreement.

Courses

Elementary:

  • All students will receive weekly lessons in technology.  This instruction will range from device management to digital citizenship.  Students will learn how to code by using OSMO and Code.org.  Students will learn internet safety and the proper use of technology.

Middle School:

  • All middle school students will participate in a semester-long technology class.  During this instruction, students will learn coding, typing, robotics, 3-D printing, and web design.  Students will have the opportunity to write, direct, and film a claymation movie in cooperation with their art and technology classes.

  • As 9th graders, all students will take a trades and ag class.  In these classes, students will learn the use of welding equipment, power tools, plasma cutters (programming), and drafting (including CAD).
